New year, new you. Eat organic!

If you’re looking for small changes you can make this year to help the planet, here’s one that’s good for you too; Choose to eat organic meat. So put “go organic” on your list of new year’s resolutions and make a change for the better!

New year’s resolutions: Choose organic meat

When you opt for organic meat, you are supporting a more sustainable way of farming. Animals are cared for with higher welfare standards, without the use of damaging synthetic chemicals, which is better for the environment. And as the livestock is raised on a more natural diet, the meat tastes better and is more nutritious. It’s a win-win!

Organic meat is better for the environment

The aim of organic farming is to work with nature to produce food that is free of synthetic chemicals. By not using artificial fertilisers and pesticides, organic farms lower their environmental impact significantly. These agrochemicals can contaminate the air, soil and water, and harm non-target organisms, such as plants, fish, birds and bees. Organic farms use natural alternatives to maintain soil fertility and deal with pests and diseases. Organic farming can also encourage natural carbon capture. Systems that include grazing animals store more carbon in the soil, which reduces the amount in the atmosphere.

Animal welfare is also a high priority for organic farms. By choosing to eat organic meat, you are supporting higher standards in the breeding, raising and caring of livestock. Keeping animals healthy and happy, giving them natural food, and creating quality housing with plenty of outdoor space.

Organic meat is better for you

We believe organic meat is the most delicious and nutritious meat. Livestock is raised on a more natural diet, and so the meat contains more omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, which are good for you. It also tastes and smells better, with a richer flavour. Moreover, as it’s a more ethical, sustainable choice than non-organic meat, it makes you feel good. Small changes can have a big impact if we all work together.
